Financial Controller

As a financial controller you will be responsible for a variety of financial management duties. You will manage a team of one or more local staff members depending on the size of the project.

Your tasks will include accounting, processing and paying invoices, and financial reporting. You will be responsible for planning budgets and forecasting future expenses. You support the managers in the financial management routines and ensure that the rules of financial management are applied.

In some projects one aid worker is responsible for both financial management and human resources, so familiarity with both routines is an asset.
Your work may include drafting or updating financial management rules and developing administrative procedures.

Requirements for Financial Controllers:

  • You have a relevant degree in e.g., business or social science
  • At least two years’ experience in diverse financial management duties
  • Excellent skills in spoken and written English, knowledge of French is an asset
  • You have experience in training and supervising others

Please also read through our general requirements.

Duration of Assignment

Assignments typically last for 6 to 9 months. We hope that all our aid workers commit to going on more than one assignment.
